Companies Target Audience:
Subway seems to cater to veterans, families, and kids while Hungry Bear targets Locals, Football Fans, and people in the community such as sports teams or law enforcement.
Website Design:
When you first clock on Subways website the first thing that you see is images of some of their popular or new subs. Scrolling down you see that they are advertising that they use fresh products and have a rewards program. They also advertise that they help their community and support veterans. Some calls to action they have on their home page are "Earn while you eat", "Get the app", and "Start order".
Hungry Bear's site is much different, their home page doesn't have the same amount of advertising as Subway does. They also have front and center some photos of their subs and claim to have "The best sub in San Diego". Calls to action on their page include "Come in & Taste", "Be social! Find us, like us and share!" On their page, they have a window that allows you to scroll through their Facebook and see what they have been up to in the community.
Overall it is very clear to me when looking at this sites which one is the local sub shop and which one is the huge corporate sub shop you see on every corner.
